Civil Society in Action/Counterpart International, in partnership with Urban Foundation for Sustainable Development through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is issuing APS for civil society organizations.

The main objective of the project is to promote the sustainability of civil society through dialogue on financial viability, organizational capacity development and policy development.

One of the objectives of the project is to equip civil society organizations united around democratic values with institutional mechanisms and skills so that they become more stable and able to conduct an effective dialogue with the Armenian government on state policy.

The project will achieve the stated main goal by implementing the following four goals:

  • Objective 1: Improving the financial stability of CSOs
  • Objective 2: Capacity building of community-based organizations
  • Objective 3: In the direction of development of state policy, CSO – promoting government dialogue
  • Objective 4: Support for initiatives arising from local needs

GKH-Counterpart invites all registered CSOs to participate in this to the competition and to implement projects in the following fields:

  • gender equality and social inclusion
  • youth development,
  • environmental protection,
  • human rights,
  • election monitoring and observation,
  • anti-corruption and judicial reforms,
  • disaster risk management,
  • post-epidemic and post-conflict priorities,
  • responding to other emergency situations.
  • The GCC will prioritize initiatives that emerge from local needs and have great potential in terms of originality, innovation, impact on the SDN and sustainability.

Funding Information

  • It is planned to provide approximately ten (10) annual grants within the framework of the AAC, each within the maximum limit of 2,000,000 AMD. (except for grants for needs arising from emergency situations, the maximum amount of which is AMD 3,000,000).
  • Duration: GKH-Counterpart plans the start date of the grant in May-June and October-November 2024, with an implementation period of 3-6 months after the conclusion of the contract.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Organizations eligible to participate in the competition
  • The applicant must meet the following requirements:
  • the organization must be officially registered in the Republic of Armenia (RA) and operate in accordance with RA legislation. In case the applicant is not yet registered, the application must clearly state the obligation to register before signing the contract.
  • applicant must not be barred by the US government in the list of organizations.
  • Have the right to participate in the competition:
  • community organizations,
  • civil society organizations,
  • foundations,
  • professional associations.
  • Attention to active applicants are encouraged to include in their programs community initiative groups.
  • GKH-Counterpart strongly encourages applications from potential new partners.
