X International Conveying Africa Award

Harambee

Relevent Country: Egypt

The Harambee Africa International Foundation is launching the X International “Conveying Africa” Award to contribute to a more accurate image of Africa, one that reflects its challenges, hopes, richness, and diversity of its people and cultures, as well as the ongoing commitment to development and its pressing needs.

The award aims to shed light on the greatness of small stories. It’s not about presenting a naive or simplistic view of Africa, but about demonstrating that alongside numerous difficulties, there is also hope and serious work being done by many individuals and organizations.

Contest Categories and Themes

The competition welcomes audiovisual productions that illustrate stories of courage, development, integration, and solidarity, and is divided into four categories:

  • Category A: Professional audiovisuals by individuals with a maximum duration of 60 minutes.
  • Category B: Professional audiovisuals by non-profit organizations with a maximum duration of 60 minutes.
  • Category C: Professional audiovisuals by commercial entities with a maximum duration of 60 minutes.
  • Category D: Audiovisuals by young creatives under the age of 25 with a maximum duration of 5 minutes.
  • For this last category, direct experience in Africa is not required, but stories exploring themes related to personal growth, coexistence, and integration are encouraged.
  • Special consideration will be given to entries that provide an authentic view and can tell where Africa is heading, highlighting the opportunities, challenges, and progress of the continent. Participants are encouraged to submit works that reflect African reality and its prospects, providing a positive and inspiring narrative about Africa today and tomorrow. The following themes will be given priority:
