The position of Business Intelligence Associate at the GS-6 level in Customer Care Section of the Global Shared Services Centre reports to the IT Officer who is at the P2 level. This is a technical skilled position, which may include the provision guidance to more junior staff or serve as a focal point for specific projects. Under the direct supervision of the IT Officer responsible for Data Analytics and Reports, the Business Intelligence Associate will be responsible for data analysis and reporting to drive efficiencies in GSSC. The incumbent will be responsible to collect data and to monitor KPIs of all sections within GSSC. Deliverables will include preparation of dashboards and reports to assist the different Sections in GSSC in analysis and evaluation of all performance and business-related metrics.

Key functions, accountabilities and related duties/tasks:

Data collection and preparing dashboards and reports on key metrics:

  • Ensure complete understanding of data and reporting requirements, functionality and facilitate user interface
  • Develop dashboards and reports to external and internal stakeholders including GSSC management
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of reported information

Liaise and interact with colleagues, users and user groups in establishing data and reporting requirements:

  • Analyze issues, develop functional specifications and identify the need for new reports or re-engineering/enhancements of the existing reports, dashboards or scorecards
  • Understand how metrics are calculated and provide training when needed on how to use the data sets
  • Liaise with different sections within GSSC to ensure data source and reports are in-line with their business requirements
  • Provide knowledge and assistance to team members and colleagues to facilitate processes

Define IT requirements for reporting; maintaining and updating dashboards, reports and scorecards:

  • Understand IT and Business policies related to analysis and accompanying applications used to generate reports and scorecards
  • Keep abreast with policy changes and requirements
  • Ensure that scorecards, dashboards and other metrics are updated and timely

Responsible for periodic and ad hoc reporting requests:

  • Receive and prioritize periodic and ad hoc reporting requests as per manager’s requirements

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Completion of secondary education (high school) is required. 
  • University level courses or studies in computer science, information systems, engineering, telecommunications, equivalent qualifications are desired. ITIL Foundation Certificate or equivalent customer support certification is an asset.
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience in various computer platforms and applications is required particular Java, SQL, PowerBI and Crystal Reporting if supplemented with four (4) years of completed university degree from an accredited university institution. In the absence of completed university degree the minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience is required.
  • Work experience with a developmental organization is an asset.
  • Proven experience in dealing with confidential and sensitive data and information.
  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize.
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required.
  • Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is a strong asset.
