The Child Protection Officer provides technical assistance and supports the coordination of the work on Violence Against Children (VAC) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) within the overall national policy framework for the protection of rights of children and women. This work may include the prevention through promotion and scale-up of minimum package of services and capacity building activities, and protection through operating Women and Girls Safe Spaces, case management services, mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), and others. Given persistent challenges to adequately prevent and respond to cases of violence, abuse, exploitation, and neglect in Romania (a Global GP VAC pathfinding country), this position will allow UNICEF to position itself as a stronger partner of choice.
The Child Protection Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for child protection programmes/projects from development planning to delivery of results. H/She prepares, executes, manages, and implements a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, programme progress monitoring, evaluating and reporting.
