The selected candidate will report to the project director (PD) and will supervise the technical and administrative team that he/she will be in charge of; will direct the day-to-day management of the project.
He/she shall be prepared to act on behalf of the PD as the main point of contact for technical and procedural matters. He/she will coordinate the award management process (and project implementation tasks. In agreement with the PD, he/she will perform multiple technical functions, including but not limited to other thematic area(s), such as oversight of the Small and Medium-Sized Coastal Ecosystem Management Grant Facility.
In agreement with PD, he/she will support the design, implementation and follow-up of a rigorous monitoring, evaluation and learning system and will ensure compliance with social and environmental safeguards, with special emphasis on gender equity, inclusion of youth and full respect for and exercise of the rights of the Garifuna people.
He/she will also promote and coordinate working relationships with governments, private sector, donors and investors. In addition, he/she will collaborate with IUCN specialists from the Country Office (Honduras) and Regional (Costa Rica) Offices.
It is anticipated that this will be a full-time, five-year position, although the eventual hiring depends on the final award of the contract.
