The Human Resource Division is responsible for the timely, accurate, equitable, effective and efficient delivery of all human resources management services, i.e. strategic staff planning, recruitment, staff administration, organizational and design and learning/career development, for the continuous development and improvement in human resource operations, policies, and methods to align with UN Women evolving business needs, and for providing advisory support to the Executive Director in the formulation and implementation of UN Women's overall mission, strategy and plans of actions.

Under the supervision of the HR Manager for Functional Effectiveness and in close collaboration with relevant functional leads, the HR Specialist for Data and Reporting is responsible for HR data analysis and reporting, HR data quality and development of regular and ad-hoc personnel related reports for internal and internal stakeholders such as donor updates, audit reports, CEB, ICSC, JIU, etc. as well as collecting the data and reporting on internal HR KPIs for the Strategic Plan.  

Duties and Responsibilities

Manage HR reporting, data, and analytics:

  • Translate organizational needs into analytics and reporting requirements to support decisions, strategies and workflows with data and information.
  • Compile and analyze HR data to address various reporting needs, including on gender and nationality diversity aspects. Prepare accurate and quality analysis, statistics and progress reports, as necessary.
  • Analyze the data to understand patterns and trends and produce analytical and visual reports to support executive decision making.
  • Conduct regular data quality assurance to ensure personnel data is accurate across corporate systems and address any inconsistencies with relevant focal points.
  • Manage the personnel validation process and provide end user support through dedicated mailbox.
  • Monitor HR reporting requirements and timelines to ensure accurate and timely submission of reports to internal and external stakeholders (Donors, Auditors, CEB, ICSC, JIU, etc.).
  • Monitor and report on HR KPIs and to address governing bodies decisions and resolutions and data requests (Member States, Executive Board, ACABQ).      
  • Contribute to the review and analysis of issues and trends, preparation of evaluations or other research activities.
  • Monitor trends and developments in data analytics best practices, tools, etc.
  • Undertake survey initiatives; design data collection tools; review, analyze and interprets responses.
  • Draft briefing notes, talking points and presentations for different stakeholders including Member States and other stakeholders.

Contribute to HRIS projects and systems:

  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to identify data analytics needs and support data-driven projects.
  • Provide inputs on HR analytics and enhancement of business processes including identifying ways of improving information delivery and data capture.
  • Ensure technically sound execution of data analytics projects, including development and delivery of training to end users.
  • Develop data management related guidelines and SOPs.
  • Collaborate with IT on data analytics, business intelligence and development of new reports and dashboards.

HR Planning:

  • Coordinate input for corporate planning and compliance processes including evaluations and audits, track timelines, implementation progress, solicit input and updates from team members as needed.
  • Contribute to development of the HR Work Plans and definition of SMART KPIs.
  • Monitor and report on HR KPIs for the Strategic Plan and Work Plan monitoring.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent University Degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Data Science, or Computer Science, or other related fields of study. A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, Public Administration, or other relevant social sciences can be accepted instead when accompanied by substantive work experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • Certification in data analysis is desirable.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in human resources management, administration, public administration, management or related area with focus on reporting and data analysis is required.
  • Experience in data management tools such as PowerBI, or equivalent, is required.
  • Experience using MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint) is required.
  • Experience in developing and conducting HR presentations to large audiences is desirable.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of another UN working language is an advantage.
