IDB Invest, a member of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group, is a multilateral organization based in Washington, D.C., that is committed to the development of Latin America and the Caribbean through the private sector.
The Finance and Administration Department covers the following areas: Controllership, Treasury, and Operations. The Controllership Division is responsible for Accounting, Financial Planning and Budget, and Administration to support IDB Invest’s business needs.
The Accounting area of the Controllership Division is responsible for three primary work streams that include Accounting Policy, Financial Instruments and Systems Solutions, and Financial Reporting and Corporate Accounting.
What you’ll do:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and supporting schedules for IDB Invest and Funds under Administration financial statements and footnote disclosures in accordance with US GAAP or other applicable guidance and internal reporting requirements.
Prepare journal entries, monthly and quarterly reconciliations, and analyses related to corporate accounting functions (i.e., accounts payable, accounts receivable, pensions, member capital, etc.)
Perform data and financial ratio analysis.
Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for senior-level decision makers.
Participate in system projects for financial reporting and corporate accounting activities or initiatives.
Contribute to the process improvement or redesign of financial reporting and corporate accounting functions.
Demonstrate strong communication skills and respond to internal and external requests in a professional manner.
Other duties as assigned by the Financial Reporting & Corporate Accounting Lead Officer.
What you will need:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, systems information, or a related field required. Master’s degree in accounting .
Experience:
Minimum two years of experience preferably working with a financial institution
Languages:
Proficiency in English is required. Proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.
