Purpose of project: to support French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons in strengthening the current asylum system in France notably by analyzing first instance decisions by means of an assessment grid and consolidating the evaluations and findings in a final report with recommendations. Good practices will be identified and documented during the project.
Duties and Responsibilities:
In terms of outputs, UNHCR requests the timely review of first instance cases and the filling of the relevant evaluation tools for each reviewed case.

Qualification and experience required :
The contractor should have an advanced university degree in law, international law or related field, preferably with specialization in international refugee law and human rights law.
Past experience in the field of asylum and refugee policy, preferably drafting, reviewing and analyzing asylum decisions and/or asylum policy.
Desirable qualifications & competencies:
Previous experience working with UNHCR will be considered an asset.
Excellent skills in legal research and analysis
