Details:

This scholarship is for nationals of developing countries with professional experience looking to further develop theirskills in a development related topics. Tuition fees are low compared to other EU countries.The ARES provides the opportunity to enrol in a 2- to 6-month continuing education course or an advanced bachelor's or master's degree programme at a university in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation of Belgium.

Eligibility:

  • Nationality: You must be a citizen of the eligible country list provided above
  • Education: Must have completed an undergraduate degree
  • Possess relevant professional experience in an ARES partner country of at least two years after graduate studies
  • Knowing a minimum of French allows for good integration into daily life in Belgium.
  • Age: not above age of 40 years and 45 for training courses
  • Apply for only one training courses

Application and Selection Procedure:

Applications can be submitted online at the GIRF platform. The selection committee will evaluate the application form of each applicant and the selections will Here are the steps:

  • After an account has been validated, you can access the application form via the competitive calls tab of your GIRF profile
  • Submit your applications

The selection committee will evaluate the application on the basis of:

  • Quality of the academic curriculum
  • The benefit of previous scholarship
  • Personal experience
  • The potential of people to be actors of change in their own society
  • Nationality diversification
  • Equal proportion of gender
  • The ability to ensure a transfer of the knowledge and skills acquired by the scholarship holders
