Details:

Students interested in global sustainability, renewable energy, and the transformation of energy systems are eligible for the Sustainability and Energy Policy Scholarship. In order to create the physical and social circumstances for long-term and universal human wellbeing, applicants must have a willingness to expand their knowledge in this sector by studying governance structures, policies, markets, technology, and new ideas.

Eligibility:

  • Nationality: International students can apply
  • Education: The applicant has a track record of academic or professional interest in energy policy or sustainability.
  • Proficiency in English Language

Application and Selection Procedure:

Steps to apply:

  • First, submit a standard application to the MPP or MIA programme.
  • Additionally, answer one of the following questions in a brief essay:
    • Why is climate change a public policy issue?
    • Choose a country. Identify the three most pressing issues in climate and energy policy and suggest one policy each to address them.
    • As part of the Sixth Assessment Report in 2021, the IPCC stated that human-caused damage to the climate is now irreversible. Where do we go from here, and what is the role of policymaking in climate change?  

The additional essay should be sent to grad-admissions[at]hertie-school[dot]org after a standard application has been submitted. The essay should be approximately two pages in length.

The applications for the 2022-23 program have been closed. And the applications for the 2023-24 program most likely would begin in 1 February.
